Writing
is one of the language skills to communicate with each other. In the
distribution of language skills, writing is always placed last after listening
skills, speaking and reading. Although writing is always the last, it does not
mean writing is an unimportant skill. In writing all the elements of language
skills should be fully concentrated in order to get a really good result.
According
to Suparno and Muhammad Yunus et. al. (2008, p 3-7) the purpose of writing so
that readers can understand the values in a writing so that readers think and
do something related to writing.
According
to Hugo Hartig Tarigan (1994, p 24-25) the purpose of writing is as follows:
1.Assignment Purpose
The purpose of this assignment actually has no proper
direction. The author writes something because it is assigned, not of its own
accord, for example the students who are given the task to create a thesis or
secretary assigned to make a report.
2.Altruistic Purpose
Writers aim to please readers, avoid the sadness of readers,
want to help readers to understand the contents of the paper, to appreciate
feelings based on their own reasoning, and more fun with their work.
3.Persuasive Purpose
Writing that aims to convince the reader of the truth of the
ideas or ideas in utarakan.
4.Informational Purpose
Writing that aims to provide information or information to
the readers
5.Self Expressive Purpose
Writings that aim to introduce or reveal the author to his
readers
6.Creative Purpose
Aims to strengthen the relationship with the purpose of
self-statement. But creative desires here outweighs the self-assertion and
engages itself with the desire to achieve the ideal artistic or artistic norm.
